This beautiful climber, originally from Australia/New Zealand, which we put in last year has reached about 3 metres and its tassel flowers are almost in full bloom - in January. Must have something to do with the fact that it's summer now in the southern hemisphere.
And to add to the beauty, our apricot double hibiscus gave us one flower yesterday.

Wow, it is gorgeous and comes in one of my favourite colours too. I hadn't heard of this plant before. The last few years quite a few good plants have come from Downunder.
I love blues and lavenders in my garden too. this HARDENBURGIA is one i must remember to look for in my nursery. so pretty!

She has certainly been a big hit with you gals, and not surprising. I'll be interested to see if she makes seed pods like a lot of climbers I have. I can perhaps arrange to send some to you if you've not been successful in finding one locally.
