more orchid trees

A dear friend , to whom we gave an white orchard tree sapling a few months back, made a sentimental journey to Hong Kong before Christmas.   She was delighted when she recognised the distinctive leaves of the tree and sent this pic of the fabulous pink variety.

We are waiting for the esteemed Spanish gardener, Paco, to come and tackle our neglected garden.   We need a good kick up the bum to get going and a couple of days of Paco's ministrations should do the trick.    It's the month  to have a huge prune and gardeners are worried that the sap has never stopped rising - in bloom and never stopping are bouganvillea, Cape honeysuckle, plumbago, lilies and irises.
