The pink trumpet vine, which will flower now until the end of the year. Their blossoms smell faintly of vanilla.

Creating a garden since 2003 out of an old orchard, a barley field and a building site on the windy coast of southern Andalucia, Spain. Welcome. I hope you enjoy my rambles and pictures and, hopefully, a bit of warmth if you're in cooler climes.

Isn't it great to have your own fig tree? I love figs so its really great to go and eat them directly from the trees. Also you can use your surplus to make beautiful fig jam. Yummy!
There are always some flowers which love the heat, the tough ones! Oh, yes figs, yummy yummy! The best fresh from the tree. Let us know how the neem oil works, please.
I was wilting yesterday too as it was 33 C with a humidity of 70 %. Well, it did make a change from the monday before when it was raining non-stop (so humidity must have been 100 %) and only 13 C. We've been having weird weather which is quite normal for this neck of the wood. ;-)
Mmmmmmm, figs!
I can totally understand the joy of picking your own figs.....one of my favourites and I always treat myself to some in the supermarkets....
It is amazing when you see beautiful flowers in such intense heat.....nature is wonderful....there are plants for every given situation.....
I too put in a fig tree last year and hope for great result...well at least one to try. I love them fresh or dried but not in jam, not even with ginger.
The best spray for powdery mildew, black spot etc, is 1 part milk or whey to 10 parts water before it takes hold & repeated at need.
Happy gardening.
