Name this plant

We're stumped again. I saw this in Yvonne's garden nestling against several other plants and admired it. She didn't know its name. So when I saw one at the garden centre yesterday and it was labelled Clerondendron, I bought it and looked forward to enlightening Yvonne.

Blow me, it's in none of the books, no information on the various plant identifying websites, nor Google......so, please, if anyone knows the name, let me know. Maybe Clerondendron is the Spanish name.

P.S. Thanks everyone for your replies. It is Clerodendrum Thomsonae.

Hi Ladyluz....I enlarged the photograph but was still none the wiser....just popping to look through my plants of the world book. If I have any luck I will get back to you.....

Hello Pam, the plant is called Clerodendrum thomsonae, I looked it up in my book on houseplants as I remembered seeing a pic of it in there. The common name in Dutch is Susan with the red lips. ;-) Over here it's a houseplant.

Now hurry up and enlighten Yvonne and impress the heck out of her with your garden knowledge! ;-)

Hi Ladyluz....I see Yolanda has beaten me to it....clerodendrum likes a well enriched soil, sunny spot and plenty of water in summer. Indoor plant here.......fam Verbenaceae
This is a large genus of trees, shrubs, and climbers from tropical regions of the world.....hope that is helpful.

Gals, you've come up trumps again. Thank you so much. Now....where to put it?! July is not a good month for impulse buys, but who can resist such beauty.

Summer hugs to you.
