SPUDS AT LAST.
Well, it's a whole different way and time for planting potatoes here. I was dreading it when my neighbour insisted a few days ago that the bucket of seed ones he had for me go in "Ya" (NOW). No, no, preparation necessary, I said, thinking I'd have to dig a trench and put manure etc. in in the teeth of the Levante wind and temperatures of 38+. But no: he laid a punched hole hosepipe in two rows, opened the water to see where the drips came, made a little hole and plopped a potato in. Done in 10 minutes. Water every two days for the first month, then stop when the green appears and start earthing up. Ready to harvest by end October/beginning November. Marvellous. I'm going to try my hand at brussel sprouts and parsnips next month, plus cauliflower and broccoli.

ladyluz, thanks for visiting my blog and for your nice comment.
OH MY GOD! I love your mosaics! I just have to find some tables or pots or something to do some mosiacs on. I'm excited just thinking about it.
I hate to even bring it up, but did you see my mosaic tables? Nothing at all compared to yours, but I just thought you might be interested in fact that I used a quilt pattern for the design.

It sounds like you are having a good time in Spain.
Spuds! This sounds do-able on the terrace. Telling my husband, the new potato fanatic. Of course, it's nearly October, and temperatures are drifting into the low-mid 20s. Too late?
Loving your back-blog!
Hi Mama Duck. Yes, sadly, too late to plant now.
Down here, spuds go in in August and February. The Feb. planted ones do better. I've known people grow them in a stack of old car tyres so, go on, have a go next year.
